managed by Peter Buzescu, who graduated from Bucharest University
School of Law, and New York University School of Law, and is a member

Most of the Firm’s work has an international
dimension. The members of the Firm pioneered cross border transactions
in several areas in post-communist Romania such like oil and gas,
consumer products, banking, and real estate.
The Firm frequently negotiates, on behalf of
foreign investors, issues related to foreign investments with the
Ministry of Economy and Finances, National Energy Regulatory Authority,
National Agency of Mineral Resources, and other Romanian authorities.
The
members advised some of the world’s major companies on long-term
land leases, land concessions for “greenfield”
developments, purchase of real estate, residential project development,
and construction disputes. The team advised several multinationals with
regard to the restructuring of their subsidiaries in Romania, and sale
of their participations in Romanian companies. The Firm advised
international bank syndicates with regard to project finance and
secured transactions matters. At the request of international
investment banking firms the team carried out due diligence reviews of
Romanian subsidiaries of multinational companies in connection with
IPOs, and notes offerings on foreign securities markets. The
members advised multinational companies on successful privatizations of
state-owned companies. The team advised a multinational in connection
with a successful bid for supplying trains for the underground system
of the City of Bucharest. The Firm advised multinationals in connection
with tenders for major utilities projects. The members successfully
advised clients investigated by the Competition Council with regard to
their distribution practices. The team coordinated successful campaigns
against counterfeiters of well-known trademarks. The Firm routinely
advises clients on employment issues, collective and individual
employment contracts, termination of employment contracts, collective
dismissals, severance agreements, and notification of employee and
client data transfer.
